Propane (LPG) detectors · private label
Propane gas detectors LPG alarms for RVs, boats, camping and tank-fed kitchens — mounted low
Propane is heavier than air. A leak from a cylinder, regulator, hose or appliance sinks and pools near the floor, in lockers, bilges and low corners — so a propane gas detector is built and installed low. SirenForge supplies LPG alarms for RV and camper builders and dealers, camping and outdoor brands, marine channels and anyone selling into cabins, tiny homes and kitchens that cook from a tank: 12 V DC flush- and surface-mount alarms, plug-in and battery units and propane + CO combination models under your brand. Homes on piped utility gas need a natural gas detector mounted high instead; the full range is on gas leak detectors.
- LPG / propane (and butane) sensing, calibrated per SKU
- 12 V DC for RVs, vans and boats; plug-in and battery for cabins and kitchens
- Low, near-floor mounting guidance in your manual
- Propane + CO combination units for RVs
Why propane detectors mount low
Propane vapor is roughly one and a half times as dense as air, so it flows downward and collects at floor level. Propane alarms are therefore made to be mounted low on the wall, near the floor, close to the appliance or cylinder area, and RV models are often flush-mounted in the lower wall panel. Keep that distinction clear in your range and listings: the same mounting rule does not apply to natural gas detectors, which go high. Exact distances depend on each model and your market’s standard and are written into the manual you approve.
RV, camper and marine propane alarms
RVs, camper vans and boats carry LPG for stoves, heaters, fridges and water heaters, and they run on 12 V. We quote:
- 12 V DC flush-mount propane alarms sized for common RV wall cut-outs, with a trim plate in your color and logo;
- 12 V surface-mount alarms for retrofits and vans;
- Propane + CO combination alarms, since RVs combine fuel-burning appliances with small enclosed spaces;
- optional relay output to close an LPG solenoid valve.
RV and marine installations often follow their own industry standards. Tell us the channel at the brief stage — the documentation it requires is confirmed per order.
Camping, cabins and kitchens with a propane tank
Outside vehicles, propane detectors sell to cabins and tiny homes, outdoor kitchens and patio heater users, and households that cook or heat from a cylinder. Here the formats are plug-in alarms (with a cord so the unit can sit low even when the outlet does not) and battery alarms for spaces without power. A portable battery LPG alarm can also be packed into camping kits — your manual states where and how it may be used.
Sensor and alarm
Propane alarms typically use a semiconductor sensor calibrated for LPG; CO combination units add an electrochemical CO sensor. Set points, sound level, warm-up and sensor life are specified per SKU and confirmed with documentation per order. Options: digital readout, voice alarm, test / hush, low-voltage warning on 12 V units, end-of-life indicator. Compare sensors in the specs guide.

No certifications, ratings or life-safety claims. We describe what each product is made of, how it works and how it can be customized. We do not display certification marks or listings, publish fire ratings, test data or customer cases on this site. Test reports and certification documentation can be provided or arranged per order for the buyer’s market, as the brand owner requires; detection and fire-resistance performance is specified per SKU and confirmed with documentation per order. Detectors complement — they do not replace — professionally installed and code-required alarms. Labelling and claims are the brand owner’s responsibility.
Frequently asked questions
Where should a propane detector be mounted?
Low on the wall, near the floor, because propane is heavier than air — following the instructions supplied with the model. RV units are commonly flush-mounted in a lower wall panel.
Do you make 12 V propane alarms for RVs?
Yes — 12 V DC flush- and surface-mount alarms, including propane + CO combination models, with your trim color and logo.
Can I use a natural gas detector for propane?
Not as a substitute. Each SKU is calibrated for its target gas and mounting height; propane needs a low-mounted LPG detector, natural gas a high-mounted methane detector.
Do you supply battery propane alarms for camping kits?
Yes, battery LPG alarms can be supplied for camping, cabin and outdoor-kitchen kits; usage instructions are set out in the manual your team approves.
Can these detectors replace code-required alarms?
No. Detectors supplied through this program complement — they do not replace — professionally installed and code-required smoke, carbon monoxide or gas alarm systems. Which alarms a building needs, and where they go, is set by local codes and the installer. We make no life-safety guarantees; the user manual, labelling and any claim on your packaging are the brand owner’s responsibility.
What is the MOQ and lead time?
Both are quoted per SKU. MOQ depends mainly on the platform (an existing detector, safe or bag design vs. a new one), housing or fabric color, logo method, packaging and the documentation your market needs; lead time depends on customization, documentation and season. Send your quantities and we confirm both on the quotation — see also the packaging & MOQ section of our specs guide.
Are your products certified or tested?
We do not display certification marks, listings, fire ratings or test data on this site. Test reports and certification documentation can be provided or arranged per order for your market, as your brand requires: tell us the destination market, sales channel and the standard or listing your retailer asks for, and the quotation confirms which documentation applies to each SKU and how it is obtained. Detection and fire-resistance performance is specified per SKU and confirmed with documentation per order — see the documentation section of our specs guide or ask on the inquiry form.
